Students Create Display for New York Fashion Center
January 31, 2013

Visual merchandising students from LIM College created a window display for New York’s Fashion Center this holiday season.

LIM students Flora Evoli, Corinth Montanye and Kristin Smith worked on the “Holiday Fantasy” installation under the direction of professor Lee Woo. They were responsible for the conceptualization, development, production and installation of a holiday-themed window presentation for the building, located at 209 W. 38th St.

The team decided on a concept based on a festive illusion of a winter princess in an ethereal enchanted forest. They utilized a variety of materials, including paper, corrugated board, twigs, ribbon and feathers. In the display, a corrugated cardboard tree embellished with a filigree of magical stencil cutouts set the tone for a stylish, young woman as she wandered through a snowbound forest.

LIM College’s visual merchandising department has designed and installed several creative-themed window displays for the Fashion Center over the last few years. The “Holiday Fantasy” window was on display throughout the 2012 holiday season.
