Seattle-based Tommy Bahama is entering Japan with two new stores, according to www.wwd.com. The retailer opened a mall location in Yokohama last week, and will open a bi-level, 5,995-sq.-ft. flagship in Tokyo’s Ginza district on April 13. The Ginza store will include a restaurant on the second floor, marking the retailer’s 15th restaurant worldwide. Additionally, a bar will be located on the first floor, a first for the retailer’s international portfolio. Other design features include an open layout and beach-inspired elements, including pickled-oak floors, a wall of rum barrels and pulley-suspended planters. Tommy Bahama is planning additional store openings in Chicago and Sydney in May.
