Starbucks to Open 1,300 Stores

Seattle-based Starbucks Corp. plans to open 1,300 new stores globally in fiscal 2013. The company’s target growth will represent a 22 percent increase over fiscal 2012. The new stores are expected to include 600 locations in the Americas, with the majority in the United States, 600 in China/Asia Pacific, with slightly more than half in China, and 100 new stores in Europe, Middle East, Russia and Africa. In the company’s first fiscal quarter 2013, it opened 212 new stores globally, including its first three stores in India.
