PAVE Announces Student Design Competition Winners

The Planning and Visual Education Partnership (PAVE) has announced the winners of its 2012 Student Design Competition, sponsored by B&N Industries. Judging took place Nov. 5 at the B&N Industries offices in Burlingame, Calif. In the store design category, Katie Barton of the University of Cincinnati took first place; Danielle Fraley of the University of Cincinnati took second place; and Abigail Buchanan of the University of North Carolina at Greensboro took third place. Honorable mentions in this category included Lauren Burns, Stephanie Metzger, Hye Young Park, Holly Smith, Stephanie Tripp and Katie Wittes. In the visual merchandising category, Lucie Calise of the University of Cincinnati took first place; Joshua Lunney of the TAFE NSW Sydney Institute took second place; and Anastasia Ivanova of the Kymenlaakso University of Applied Sciences School took third place. This year’s winners faced a competitive field of 428 entries, including 371 in the overall store design category and 57 in the visual merchandising category. The winners will be recognized at the 16th annual PAVE Gala in New York on Dec. 5.
