Macy’s Herald Square Restaurant Set to Open in March
February 28, 2013
Cincinnati-based Macy’s Inc. will open Stella 34 Trattoria—a modern Italian restaurant—at its Herald Square flagship store in New York in early March. Crated by STUDIO V Architecture, in partnership with Macy’s and The Patina Restaurant Group, the 10,000-sq.-ft trattoria will feature a chic Prosecco Bar, an intimate, semi-private dining room, casual lounge and a marble dining counter facing an open kitchen. Showpieces of the restaurant will be the three wood-burning ovens and the 240-ft.-long carrara marble and stainless steel sculptural bar. Natural light will flow in from the store’s 12 ft.-high bay windows. Additionally, a gallery of original art by American pop artist and caricaturist Robert Risko will enhance the sleek, contemporary design.
