Barnes & Noble to Close Up to One-Third of Stores

New York-based Barnes & Noble Inc. continues to shrink its store base, with plans to close up to 20 stores a year over the next decade, according to the Associated Press. By 2023, the company expects to operate 450 to 500, down from its current 689 stores. The company has been closing about 15 stores per year for the past 10 years.
