Green Depot to Build Manhattan Flagship
April 25, 2008
Green Depot, a Brooklyn, N.Y.-based supplier of environmentally friendly building materials, green products and green living services and solutions, announced it will begin construction on a new flagship consumer showroom in Manhattan on May 1. Green Depot Manhattan will take over the ground floor space in the building that was The 1885 Young Men's Institute at 222 Bowery between Prince and Spring streets and will open in November 2008. The showroom, Green Depot's sixth and largest, will have more than 3,000 sq. ft. of retail space, and will also include a resource and design center where Green Depot staff will work with customers to find green building materials that are cost-efficient and easily adaptable into their construction or renovation projects. Green Depot has enlisted the architecture and design services of Mapos LLC to re-fashion the space and anticipates LEED-platinum or gold certification for the flagship.
