Hill PHOENIX Receives EPA GreenChill “Distinguished Partner Award”
August 31, 2009
Conyers, Ga.-based Hill PHOENIX, a designer and manufacturer of commercial refrigeration systems, received a 2008-2009 GreenChill Advanced Refrigeration Partnership “Distinguished Partner Award” from the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) during the Food Marketing Institute’s Sustainability Summit in San Francisco. For the first time, the EPA awarded GreenChill Distinguished Partner Awards to recognize companies that show extraordinary commitment to the GreenChill mission to reduce supermarkets’ impact on climate change and the earth’s ozone layer. Hill PHOENIX received one of only two Distinguished Partner Awards presented. As a founding partner of the EPA’s GreenChill Advanced Refrigeration Partnership, an initiative in which companies pledge to voluntarily go above and beyond regulatory requirements to protect the ozone layer and reduce greenhouse gas emissions, Hill PHOENIX helps promote advanced technologies, strategies and practices that reduce refrigerant charges and emissions of ozone-depleting substances and greenhouse gases.
