S&K Menswear Opens First Newly Designed Prototype
May 05, 2008

Richmond, Va.-based S&K Famous Brands Inc. will be opening the first of a series of newly designed stores at Bridge Street Towne Center in Huntsville, Ala. The new store design is a key component in S&K Menswear's strategic plan to transition from a traditional "suit store" to a collection-oriented retailer of better menswear. "Everything has been designed with our customer in mind," said Joseph Oliver III, president and CEO of the company. "Our new product assortment reflects the more updated fashion direction desired by our customers. We have expanded our floor space dedicated to branded products, dress furnishings, fashion sportswear and our growing formalwear business, while improving every physical detail to create a simple and enjoyable shopping experience." Upgrades include fitting rooms with a more comfortable look and feel, and the addition of a lounge area to encourage customers to relax and spend more time inside the store. "The new prototype features high quality fixtures, a more appealing layout and bright recess lighting that will be more attractive to our guests," said Joe Price, director of visual merchandising for the company. "We have upgraded everything including the location of the service area and the music." Grand opening festivities will kick off on May 8 with a formal ribbon cutting ceremony. S&K Famous Brands operates more than 220 stores in 26 states.
