Carrefour Names New CEO

Paris-based retailer Carrefour's board of directors has selected Lars Olofsson to succeed Jose Luis Duran as Group CEO. Olofsson is currently executive vice president of the Nestle Group, responsible for strategic business units, marketing and sales. Duran had been with Carrefour for 18 years. Olofsson will join the Carrefour Group on Jan. 1, 2009, and will spend the coming weeks meeting future colleagues within the group.
