Bergmeyer Designs New L.L.Bean Outdoor Lifestyle Store
June 30, 2009
Boston-based architecture firm Bergmeyer Associates Inc. has designed Freeport, Maine-based retailer L.L.Bean Inc.’s newest Outdoor Lifestyle store in Boston. Bergmeyer started the project in 2005, and designed the store exterior alongside L.L.Bean, W/S Development and the W/S Development project team. The interior has been designed to earn LEED Silver certification and uses sustainable elements, including natural lighting, occupancy sensors for climate control and lighting regulation, reclaimed wood and locally manufactured fixtures and construction materials. The new two-story location covers 30,000 sq. ft. and is Bergmeyer’s ninth project for L.L.Bean.
