Target Brings Office Furnishings to Arizona
June 30, 2009
Minneapolis-based Target Corp. is entering Arizona’s office retail market and reaching out to small- and medium-sized businesses, according to The Arizona Republic. Last year, the company purchased Phoenix-based retailers Walsh Bros. and U.S. Business Interiors, and has been replacing existing locations with new office furniture showrooms. On June 23, a Target Commercial Interiors (TCI) store opened in Phoenix, and two more TCI branches are slated to open later in the year. The company decided to enter the Phoenix market due to the city’s growth and significant population of small- to medium-sized businesses, according to John Jurgensen, director of marketing at TCI. Target currently operates 13 business interior stores in Arizona, Wisconsin, Washington, Minnesota and Illinois.
