Foot Locker Names New CEO

Ken C. Hicks, president and chief merchandising officer of Plano-based J.C. Penney Co. Inc., is stepping down from his current position to assume a new post as CEO of New York-based Foot Locker Inc., according to DallasNews.com. Effective Aug. 17, Hicks will succeed Matthew D. Serra, CEO of Foot Locker since 2001. Serra will remain on the board until he retires in January. In a Securities and Exchange Commission filing on June 25, J.C. Penney said that Hicks’ departure from the retailer was not "a result of any disagreement with the company or its management." His last day at J.C. Penney is July 6.
