Shopko Announces Launch of e-Commerce Platform
November 18, 2009
Green Bay, Wis.-based Shopko Stores Operating Co. LLC, an affiliate of Sun Capital Partners Inc., announced the launch of its new e-commerce business, which is accessible at www.shopko.com. Shopko partnered with SpeedFC, a global e-commerce application platform and service provider for retailers, to advance its online selling initiatives. The new online store will immediately highlight the company's offering of holiday items in apparel, home, accessories, gift cards and more. The site features thousands of items and will continue to add to its selection every day. In addition to private-brand merchandise, Shopko's site will carry national brands, such as Paula Deen, Rachel Ray, Kitchen Aid and Dyson, as well as popular apparel lines by Gloria Vanderbilt and Susan Lawrence. The site also allows customers to create a wish list to identify items for a later purchase or print a shopping list right from the site. "The launch of Shopko.com was driven by customer input and our desire to serve her needs," said Jack Mullen, senior vice president, marketing for Shopko. "Customers told us they wanted to buy online and they also wanted to save time by being able to pre-shop online before coming into our store. We believe that by providing this additional channel we will increase customer satisfaction and drive significant sales growth."
