Barnes & Noble to Open Three New Stores

New York-based Barnes & Noble Inc. announced plans to open three new stores in Columbus, Ohio; Cumming, Ga.; and Arlington, Texas. The Columbus store is expected to open in October 2008, and will be located in the Polaris Fashion Place Mall on I-17 and Polaris Parkway. It will replace the existing company store located in the Polaris Towne Center. The Cumming store will open May 14, 2008, and will be located in The Avenue Forsyth at 410 Peachtree Parkway. According to the company, it will employ 50 workers. The Arlington location will also open May 14 in The Parks at Arlington at 3881 South Cooper St., and will employ 85 members of the local community. Each of the stores will feature 200,000 DVD, book, magazine and CD titles, as well as a children's department, RedDotNet technology, wireless Internet, a cafe and a community center. Barnes & Noble operates 798 stores in 50 states.
