New York-based The Sharper Image has signed a five-year licensing agreement with New Rochelle, N.Y.-based London Luxury, a home textiles manufacturer. The agreement covers the use of The Sharper Image brand and trademarks across a range of products, including towels, pillows, sheets, comforters and heated blankets. The agreement permits London Luxury to manufacture and distribute The Sharper Image products to a broad spectrum of premium retailers in the department, specialty and club channels, as well as other select retail outlets throughout the United States, Canada and Mexico. The retail rollout of The Sharper Image bedding and bath lines is scheduled for the second half of 2009. London Luxury will introduce its first collection of The Sharper Image licensed products at the New York Home Fashions Market Week, to be held March 9-13. All The Sharper Image retail stores were liquidated in 2008, but the company still maintains an online presence.
