Genesco President Assumes CEO Role

Hal N. Pennington, chairman and CEO of Nashville, Tenn.-based Genesco Inc., announced that Robert J. Dennis, president of the company, will assume the additional role of CEO, effective Aug. 1. Pennington will continue as executive chairman of the company. Dennis was named president and COO of Genesco in October 2006, after a year as executive vice president and COO. He had previously served as CEO of Hat World Corp. since 2001. Following Genesco's acquisition of Hat World, he was named a senior vice president of Genesco in 2004. Genesco is a specialty retailer selling footwear, headwear and accessories in more than 2,175 retail stores in the United States and Canada.
