Harris Teeter to Open Store in Baltimore

Mathews, N.C.-based Harris Teeter Inc. announced plans to open its first store in Baltimore, located in the Columbia's Kings Contrivance Village Center, according to The Baltimore Sun. The new 60,000-sq.-ft. store will feature curbside grocery pickup, a sushi bar, pizzeria, artisan cheese department, pharmacy and a cafe. In addition, the company plans to open another store in South Baltimore in 2010. Harris Teeter opened its first Maryland store in Darnestown in 2006. Currently, the company operates 169 stores in the Southeastern United States.
