IKEA to Open in Brooklyn, N.Y.

Helsingborg, Sweden-based IKEA will open a store in Brooklyn, N.Y., during the summer of 2008, located in the Red Hook district. The 346,000-sq.-ft. store will feature a 450-seat restaurant, Swedish Foodmarket, cafe, children's play area, baby care rooms, 50 room settings, three model home interiors, home delivery and design consultation. According to the company, it will hire 500 employees for the new store. IKEA operates 270 stores in 36 countries. View the complete story here.
