Research Reveals 2009 Tradeshow Plans of Retail Design Industry

A recent study fielded to more than 10,000 registrants of the 2008 GlobalShop event uncovered industry travel plans for the 2009 tradeshow cycle. The research effort asked retailers and CPGs to divulge information about their intentions to visit various industry shows next year, and to rank their importance relative to their business. Key findings indicated that 77 percent of respondents plan to attend GlobalShop 2009 -- produced by Nielsen Business Media -- in Las Vegas next March. Most indicated they are "not likely" to attend other events in the survey; and about 73 percent cited the most important reason they attend trade shows is "to see industry products." GlobalShop also has compiled a news brief on retail and CPG investment planned for 2009 and beyond. The News Summary highlights the significant investment planned for the year ahead, and consists of information gathered in a 90-day window, from September to November 2008.
