Urban Outfitters Restructures Anthropologie Management
August 22, 2008
Philadelphia-based Urban Outfitters Inc. has restructured and filled what was formerly one vacant president position for its Anthropologie brand into two senior-level management positions. The company has named longtime senior Anthropologie executives Wendy Wurtzburger as chief merchandising officer and Wendy Brown as chief operating officer. "After a lengthy and deliberate search for the Anthropologie vacant president position, we have concluded that a combined leadership structure was the optimal approach for furthering the brand's North American development,” said CEO Glen T. Senk. “For more than a decade, Wendy and Wendy have played crucial roles in Anthropologie’s development, and I am confident that they will lead the brand to continued success.” Urban Outfitters owns 115 Anthropologie stores, in addition to 132 flagship Urban Outfitters stores and 21 Free People stores.
