Tanger to Open Upscale Outlet Center in Phoenix

Greensboro, N.C.-based Tanger Factory Outlet Centers Inc. plans to build a high-end outlet shopping center in a western suburb of Phoenix. The 330,000-sq.-ft. Tanger Outlet Center is expected to break ground in 2009 and open in 2010. It will function as an open-air shopping center housing 80 brand name and designer outlet stores where customers can shop directly from the manufacturers. "The center's strategic location and easy access to the region's major highways will make the new Tanger Outlet Center in west Phoenix convenient to shoppers throughout the Southwest," said Steven B. Tanger, president and COO of the company.
