Pacific Sunwear Names New CEO
June 19, 2009
Anaheim, Calif.-based Pacific Sunwear of California Inc. has selected Gary H. Schoenfeld as its new CEO, effective June 29, according to The Los Angeles Times. After a nine-year term at Vans, where he most recently served as CEO, Schoenfeld will succeed Sally Frama Kasaks at PacSun. Schoenfeld plans to restore Pacific Sunwear's popularity by developing the teen chain's brand line-up, appealing to new customers and promoting the company's surf-and-skate focus. "The company has had declining sales trends and hasn't been profitable for some time, so we've got some work to do," Schoenfeld said. Currently, the company operates 927 stores.
