Bloomingdale's Unveils Revamped Tailored Department
October 06, 2008
Bloomingdale's, a division of Cincinnati-based Macy's Inc., has unveiled its revamped tailored clothing department at its 59th Street flagship, following more than a year of planning, according to Dnrnews.com. "Tailored clothing has been our best-performing division," said David Fisher, executive vice-president and GMM of men's. "Our goal is realistic in light of what's going on out there right now, but we have a double-digit plan for this area for the fourth quarter. And we expect the momentum to build through 2009." In February, Bloomingdale's completed the first phase of renovations of the flagship's three-level, 90,000-sq.-ft. men's store with the addition of No. 59 Metro. The newly remodeled tailored clothing department was part of phase two, and will be followed by the addition of a series of lifestyle shops adjacent to the new clothing area on the mid-level. New shops will include Polo, Moncler, PS Paul Smith, John Varvatos and Burberry, among others. The renovation of the lifestyle and Polo areas is expected to be completed by February, with the total men's department redo slated to be finished by next Father's Day.
