DDI Color & Materials Specifiers' Conference Sneak Peak

DDI will host its Color & Materials Specifiers' Conference in New York at the American Conference Center on Oct. 21. The event, which will take place from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m., will feature a powerful line-up of keynote speakers. Kicking off the event at 9 a.m., Barbara Richardson, director of color marketing for AkzoNobel (formerly ICI Paints) will explore the use of color in the world today with her presentation titled "Color, Trends & Psychology in the Built Environment." At 11:30 a.m., Peter-Tolin Baker of Tiffany & Co. will give an inside view on how the colors and materials used for presenting Tiffany's gems and jewelry support the inspirational image of this leading luxury brand. Next up, Genevieve Flaven, managing partner of Style-Vision, will discuss "Key Consumer Trends 2009/2010," at 1:30 p.m. Rounding out the speaker sessions at 4 p.m., Dana Jenkins of Gensler will share techniques for distinguishing between self-declared environmental claims and those that are authentic, and will present materials that are authentically sustainable.
