Burlington Coat Factory Reports 3Q Sales

Burlington, N.J.-based Burlington Coat Factory Warehouse Corp. reported net sales from continuing operations of $987.1 million for the third quarter ending March 1, 2008, compared with $987.3 million for the same time period last year. Comparable-store sales fell 6 percent. For year-to-date, net sales from continuing operations were $2.612 billion, a 0.6 percent decline, versus $2.629 million; while comparable-store sales dropped 5.8 percent. The company opened 19 Burlington Coat Factory stores, relocated three and closed two MJM Designer Shoe stores for the year. Burlington Coat Factory Warehouse operates 396 stores in 44 states.
