Dormia Files for Chapter 11 Reorganization

Dormia Inc., a 20-store mattress and bedding retailer, filed for voluntary reorganization under Chapter 11 of the U.S. Bankruptcy Code Wednesday. The company's wholesale mattress manufacturing business, Jessup, Md.-based Classic Sleep Products, will continue operating unaffected by the filing. Dormia's retail locations will remain open for business during the reorganization process. New York-based The CIT Group also gave Dormia stores a debtor-in-possession facility to increase Dormia's liquidity.
