CVS to Test High-End Beauty Concept
August 25, 2008
Woonsocket, R.I.-based CVS Caremark Corp. plans to test a high-end beauty store concept, called Beauty 360, this year, according to Reuters.com. By the end of this year, the company intends to open Beauty 360 next to an existing CVS store on the East Coast, followed by another on the West Coast. Eileen Howard Dunn, a CVS spokeswoman, did not disclose the exact locations of the stores. However, Women's Wear Daily reported that the first store would debut in Washington, D.C., followed by a second in Sacramento, Calif. "Beauty has always been a core part of our front-of-store offering, so this is the next evolution," Dunn said, adding that the company does not plan to open Beauty 360 shops next to every CVS location. She also said that CVS plans to test a few more Beauty 360 stores after the first two locations.
