Mall of America to Add Columbia Sportswear Store
July 24, 2008

Mall of America, located in Bloomington, Minn., announced that Portland, Ore.-based Columbia Sportswear Co. plans to open a Columbia-branded store later this year. The new 16,000-sq.-ft. store will feature Columbia apparel, footwear, accessories and equipment, along with its Sorel brand winter footwear. According to the company, the Columbia retail environment will "offer the consumer a sense of outdoor adventure through the use of material, architectural design, color, technical and inspirational imagery, media and illumination." Additionally, the store will incorporate regional architectural styles and materials to form the Columbia experience. Columbia currently operates one store in Portland, with plans to open stores in Seattle and Chicago.
