Dell Expands in Australia
May 08, 2008
Round Rock, Texas-based Dell Inc. announced plans to expand into Australia through a partnership with Australia-based Officeworks Superstores Ltd. Dell products, such as laptops, desktops, printers, ink cartridges and flatpanel displays, will be available in Officeworks stores for customers to purchase. "While we continue to see growth in our online business in Australia, we recognize some people want to touch and feel our products first," said Evan Williams, general manager customer sales and marketing, South Asia, for Dell. "Our partnership with Officeworks will enable them to do this before buying a computer that meets their specifications." According to Dell, its Australian division will also continue to operate 13 mall kiosks located in New South Wales, Queensland and Victoria. Dell products are currently available in more than 12,000 stores worldwide.
