Gap, Pantone Create T-Shirt Shop Concept

San Francisco-based The Gap Inc. and Pantone recently announced the opening of a color-filled T-shirt shop. The store, located in Gap's rotating concept venue adjacent to its flagship store at 54th Avenue and Fifth Avenue. in New York, will feature a full palette of T-shirts from Gap's upcoming spring collection in true Pantone colors, including a limited-edition T-shirt in Mimosa, Pantone's color of the year for 2009. Pantone provides professional color standards for various design industries. Alongside Gap men's crewneck and women's V-neck T-shirts, the shop will feature a display of Pantone Universe items, including a collection of color-themed stationery, office supplies, books and accessories. Pantone, an X-Rite company, annually selects a "color of the year." Mimosa, a warm, engaging yellow that Gap will spotlight with exclusive T-shirts available at the Gap & Pantone T-Shop, is available in limited quantities as a men's crewneck and women's V-neck shirt. Mimosa also is one of the 3,000 colors available in Pantone's line of eco-friendly paint. The Gap & Pantone T-Shop will be open through Feb. 8.
