Wal-Mart Names New President, CEO of Walmart de Mexico
December 18, 2009

Bentonville, Ark.-based Wal-Mart Stores Inc. announced that Scot Rank has been named as president and CEO of Walmart de Mexico. Rank, who was previously executive vice president and COO of Walmart de Mexico, replaces Eduardo Solórzano, who has been promoted to the position of executive vice president, president and CEO of Walmart Latin America, where he will oversee Walmart’s operations in Argentina, Brazil, Chile, Costa Rica, El Salvador, Guatemala, Honduras, Mexico, Nicaragua and Puerto Rico. In addition to his new regional role, Walmart de Mexico announced that it has elected Solórzano chairman of the board. Based in Walmart’s Latin American regional office in Miami, Solórzano will assume his new role on Jan. 18.
