idX Louisville Earns FSC Certification
September 05, 2008
St. Louis-based idX Corp. has earned Forest Stewardship Council (FSC) Certification for its Louisville division. idX Louisville is the second idX division to earn FSC Certification, following idX Seattle's certification in May. Earning FSC Certification means that wood used in fixtures from idX Louisville and Seattle can be traced back to the forest where it began, ensuring environmentally responsible forestry of wood products. accreditation. FSC Certification provides a guarantee that the fixture's chain-of-custody has been maintained. That chain-of-custody begins in the forest and includes all successive stages of processing, transformation, manufacturing and distribution. To qualify for FSC Certification, idX's Louisville division was independently verified by Scientific Certification Systems, an FSC-accredited certification company. SCS examined idX's record-keeping and systems, certifying idX to work within the FSC system and label its products with the FSC logo.
