Mohawk Appoints Chief Sustainability Officer
December 14, 2009
Dalton, Ga.-based Mohawk Industries and its three strategic business units, including commercial carpet manufacturer The Mohawk Group, have further enhanced their sustainability management with the recent appointment of Bill Kilbride to chief sustainability officer. He will also continue to serve as president of Mohawk Home. As chief sustainability officer, Kilbride will head a sustainability council comprising the presidents of the company’s three business units and support the organization’s total efforts in environmental compliance, conservation, reuse and recycling. Mohawk’s goal is to implement innovative methods to reduce resource utilization (electricity, water, gas, waste, etc.), champion value-added “green” initiatives and market additional new products that deliver greater value.
