Krispy Kreme to Expand into China

Winston-Salem, N.C.-based Krispy Kreme Doughnuts Inc. announced that it has entered into an agreement with KKD Lotte Holdings Co. Ltd. for the development of approximately 35 Krispy Kreme retail locations over the next four to five years in the Chinese metropolitan areas of Shanghai, Beijing and Tianjin. Lotte is also Krispy Kreme's franchisee in the Republic of Korea and Japan. Currently, Krispy Kreme has locations in 16 countries, and also recently announced franchise development agreements for the Republic of Turkey and Malaysia.
