Design Services Group Changes Name to Store Design Services
June 01, 2009
Supervalu-owned retail design firm Design Services Group (DSG) has changed its name to Store Design Services to better reflect its offerings. Supervalu first introduced its store development group in 1970 as Studio 70. Studio 70 provided store-planning and equipment services to Supervalu-supplied independent retailers. In the ensuing years, the grocer introduced Planmark, its architectural and engineering department, and Design Services Group, the umbrella under which all store development services resided. Today, Store Design Services has grown to become a provider of end-to-end food store development services, offering such interconnected services as independent project management, store planning and merchandising, architecture and engineering, visual merchandising, interior design, and equipment services.
