Target to Launch RadioShack Mobile Kiosks
November 10, 2009
Fort Worth, Texas-based RadioShack Corp. has signed an agreement with Minneapolis-based Target Corp. to sell mobile phones at kiosks in Target stores nationwide, according to Dallas Business Journal. In October, RadioShack subsidiary Kiosk Operations Inc. took over mobile phone sales at about 100 Target locations in Minnesota, California, Georgia, Illinois, New Jersey, Texas and Washington. These "Bullseye Mobile Solutions" kiosks are run by Kiosk Operations employees, who wear black shirts instead of the usual red Target shirts. The kiosks sell Verizon, T-Mobile and AT&T phones and services plans, as well as various prepaid phones and calling cards--the same products and services already offered by Target. Target plans to expand the kiosk operations in 2010, though the exact number of stores has not been confirmed. "This provides added convenience for our guests," says Target spokeswoman Jana O'Leary. "They an do their Target shopping trip, grab some groceries and address any cell phone needs they may have."
